The International Center for the Study of Phenomenon of Solidarity and the Faculty of Philosophy of Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow organized an intensive educational program in the academic year 2022/2023: an on-line Summer School dedicated to the internationalization of the Polish experience of Solidarity. The program was addressed primarily to foreign students and PhD students. The condition for joining the program is having the status of a student/doctoral student during its duration and knowledge of the English language. The school was free of charge for it's participants thanks to financial support from European Social Founds.

The summer school was carried out in two, 5-day editions.

1st edition: June 25, 2023 - June 30, 2023 at 14:00-21:00 Polish time.

2nd edition: July 10, 2023-July 14, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 16:00 Polish time.

The block of classes included 8 teaching hours each day. Participants of the summer school received a certificate and two ECTS credits.

The scope of the program included: the historical and philosophical background of the Polish experience of Solidarity, i.e. the history of the idea of solidarity against the backdrop of economic changes in the 19th and 20th centuries, the ethics of solidarity in Poland, which was developed especially by John Paul II and Józef Tischner, as well as the history of the idea of solidarity in Europe. We will also consider the potential of transferring the Polish experience of Solidarity to other countries and cultures, and its application to world problems. Participants of the summer school will also get acquainted with materials presenting Poland as a country of attractive opportunities: study, work and life. 100 students and Phd Students from 33 countries and representing 5 continets took part in the event. Participants were discussing, in international and intercultural enviornment, if the Polish experience of Solidarity can be interantionalize in order to solve global and local problem.

The project "Internationalization of the Polish experience of Solidarity" (BPI/SPI/2021/1/00069) has been supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange under the SPINAKER programee and co-financed by the European Social Fund under the Operational Program Knowledge Education Development, a non-competitive project entitled. "Supporting institutional capacity of Polish higher education institutions through the creation and implementation of international study programmes" (Measure: 3.3 Internationalization of Polish higher education), as specified in the project application no. POWR.03.03.00-00-PN16/18.

The first two editions were a huge sucess, therefore we are planning to open third edition in July 2023.
