The Idea of Solidarity Today - open lectures

As part of the implementation of the program resolution, we try to reach the widest possible audience by raising issues consistent with the mission and statutory objectives of the Center. Following the latest trends, we announced on-line lectures that are broadcast live and also recorded for later playback. We use modern technology to reduce the costs associated with participation on the part of interested parties. The events are held in Polish.

We gave the initiative the name Idea Solidarności Dzisiaj (The idea of solidarity today), referring to the book of the same title, which was published in 2001 under the editorship of Fr. prof. Władysław Zuziak, as part of the research activity of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow (then: the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Krakow) and the conference under this title, which took place in Krakow on November 14-15, 2020, where "after twenty years of functioning the idea of solidarity in the social awareness of Poles” was jointly discussed by representatives of “sociologists and philosophers, both from Poland and abroad, as well as trade unionists, politicians and young people who are just entering social life” (quotes from the Introduction). As part of the cycle, we want to follow the same path.

The aim of the lectures is to disseminate the idea of solidarity by referring to the heritage of NSZZ "Solidarność", as well as reflection on problems related to social and professional life. The speakers of the lectures will be both academics representing various scientific disciplines and academic centers, as well as professionals with valuable experience and direct insight into pressing problems. The lectures will be broadcast live on YouTube on the "MCBFS - Solidarność" channel: https://www.youtube.com/@mcbfs-solidarnosc8816.
